Garrett's Web Page

Well, I just now am starting to realize that the year is almost over, and I'm about to cry. As quickly as it came about, my freshman year of college is over. Gone, Done with. And this is a sad thing, because I've built up so many memories. I've made friends, and I've done stuff. So, without further ado, here is the year in review.

It all started last August, when, at the first meal of Orientation, decided to sit at a table by myself, with the hope that some hot girl would sit next to me. I was sure that it wouldn't happen, and when it did, I knew I was going to have the best year of my life. And, it hasn't been the events that have made it such a great year, its been the people I've met. You have all been the greatest things that have happened to me, thank you all! I had huge amounts of fun this year, and as great as it was to watch the Patriots win the Superbowl, or to hang around playing GTA, it wouldn't have been half as good if I wasn't able to do it with everybody. So, thanks, Bill, Mickey, Ted, Chris, and everyone else who I might have watched the Simpsons with, or played GTA with, or anything. Nick, thanks for being an understanding roommate, and not getting visibly angry over my bad habits, for listening, even though I don't sometimes, and for being an all-around cool guy. You rock Nick, I was very lucky to have roommed with you.

Thanks also to Slyvia, Nate, Steffi, Shannon, Keith, Mike, Anna, Ben, etc for hanging out with me, for eating with me, and for letting me be your friend. You are all great people, and I'm sorry that I couldn't have gotten to know a lot of you better. I know this sounds sappy and everything, but you really have made my life better, and without you guys, I wouldn't have had nearly as good of a Freshman year. And Anna, I like Chips!

Thanks also to anybody who I played frisbee with this year, inlcuding various people named Mike/Chris, Anna, Huskie, Joel, Saleem, Elliot, Ben, Mark, Eric, Brian, Nate, Berg and everybody else I've missed. You've not only given me something to do, and helped me get in shape, but you've done a lot for me. You've made my year better. Thanks, you all really mean a lot to me, even when you're not on my team.

Thanks to Dan and John, for being nice and giving me somebody to talk to in econ class.

Special thanks to Huskie, for being the second nicest guy I've ever met. You've helped me become a better frisbee player, a better student, and a better person. You're one of the most humble, understanding, and loving people I've ever met. You set a great example, and have really shown me what true Christianity is all about. Thanks.

I'd also like to thank everybody at CSU and the kids from Arkansas for giving me a time to express and develop my faith, you guys rock! Especially you Jerry, you're easy going, have a great personality, can teach a lot while saying a little, and I'm gonna miss you. Good luck wherever you end up.

Melissa: Thanks for hanging out with me. I had great times watching Anime, hiking, eating, visiting Museums, talking, hitting you in the face with a frisbee (sorry), and doing everything that we've done together. Good luck working at Wendy's, I hope you survive it. That, and putting up with me + Seth for as long as you have, that certainly deserves an award! I guess you could do it because you're a robot.

Last, and certainly not least, Seth: First of all, you've been a great friend. I've often been angry at you or impatient with you or whatever, and you haven't let that phase you a bit. You've been a great person, you've done everything with me, from watching Anime, to playing GTA, to hanging out and playing frisbee. You've introduced me to most of the other people on this list, and you've given me not only great times, but a great friend as well. I don't think there's been another person who I've taken for granted more than you (aside from my parents), and I think I really owe you an apology for being a jerk to you sometimes, when you've been nothing but kind and understanding to me. You've been one of the best things thats ever happened to me, and bar none the best thing thats happened this year. Thank you man, I number you amoung my best friends in the world, you mean a whole lot to me, and I really don't deserve you as a friend.

Finally, I'd also like to thank to other people, who don't even go to Northeastern, but have made my year better anyway. First, is Seth (from home), who would always cheer me up on IM, or listen to whatever I had to say, and be generally friendly to me. Thanks. Secondly, is Charlie. You've always been there when I needed you, you're always willing to listen, and there isn't a secret in the world I wouldn't trust with you. You've given me encouragement when I've endeavored to take a risk, and sympathy when the risk didn't pay off. (I think you know what I'm talking about). Even though I've never seen you in Boston, and have only seen you a few times this year, you've really made an impact in my year at Northeastern, and it wouldn't have been the same if you weren't there for me. I owe you a big thank-you.

I'm sure that there is some really important person that I've completely forgotten to mention here, and if I have its because I'm simply writing this the day before I have two finals, not because I don't care about you. Thanks again to everyone!
