You know how every christmas, you get at least one gift you just hate? Well, I got mine at a Yankee swap today. Its the kind of gift that you know had about zero effort going into it. It didn't get better when the person who gave it to me said "yeah, I found it in my basement." Its a clock radio. From about 1988. It weighs over a pound. It doesn't work. It could very easily be the worst christmas present ever. Except, for maybe the other things he gave, which included stuffed animal with an unidentified stain, which he says has been in more Yankee swaps than any other object in the world.

Now, I'm kind of wondering, what should I do with this clock-radio? I could either keep it as a keepsake, to be given away at some future gift exchange, or I could wrap it tonight, and give it back tomorrow. It would be very funny if I could give it to him without him knowing that it, but I think that he would definately suspect something, and I don't think that I could keep a straingt face. Perhaps the best way to do it would be to wait until his birthday, or next christmas. Of course, what I think i will end up doing, is bringing it to school with me, to keep as a decoration.

But anyway, regardless of the bad gifts, I really had a great time tonight. I had a christmas party with my old youth group, quite fun. It has changed a lot since I left, but it is still the same old group. Anyway, we talked a bit, had the fun yankee swap, and had some fun charades. Then, we all went to Friendly's, where Dan uttered a line destined to enter legend: "but hey, that's why they call you Friendlies?" to an agitated waitress. Then I offered to drive to people home, but it turns out they were going to a movie in Nanick instead, which I though was pretty funny. Therefore, I didn't get home until late. But that's a different story.

Anyway, enough of today, lets look towards tomorrow. Christmas eve, a day which is perhaps better than Christmas itself. I plan to sleep in a bit, enjoy time with my family, until my brother makes chili (perhaps not the most traditional of holiday meals, but still gonna be cool). Then we're going to go to church, for a service. Then, we go home, and watch "Its a Wonderful Life," which we've all seen about 100 times, and can repeat all the lines to, but we like it anyway. Then, I shall gourge myself on egg-nog and christmas cookies, then finally get to bed, waiting for Santa Clause to visit. Hopefully, I'll get to sleep, but if not, I have at least one book I can read just about all of.

So, in closing, let me wish you a very merry christmas.
